"A year into the new role, I have started working independently and solving more difficult cases without issues. My colleagues started to rely on my expertise and I have made a name for myself within the business with more and more colleagues approaching me to help solve their problems with the products I was delivering. I had no problem identifying where a problem lies and engaging colleagues in order to work towards a resolution. Along with my product knowledge I’ve gained a lot of technical skills as well and I have started doing training sessions to other colleagues within the team."
Stoyan Atanasov, Senior Solutions Analyst
What has your career journey been at Experian?
I started working in Experian in 2016 in an Analyst position in the Sofia Delivery Centre. Coming from a government institution working as an IT Business Analyst I was really pleased to get introduced to a big company and its way of working and treating people. After a month in trainings I was presented with a great opportunity for a secondment in a UK Delivery team to deal with Identity and Fraud (ID&F) products which was challenging at first but turned out to be a great step toward my future development. The experience there exposed me to a lot of client facing work, gave me confidence on client interactions and improved my negotiating skills. After just six months of working on successful deliveries for the team I got promoted to a Solutions Analyst role.
A year into the new role, I have started working independently and solving more difficult cases without issues. My colleagues started to rely on my expertise and I have made a name for myself within the business with more and more colleagues approaching me to help solve their problems with the products I was delivering. I had no problem identifying where a problem lies and engaging colleagues in order to work towards a resolution. Along with my product knowledge I’ve gained a lot of technical skills as well and I have started doing training sessions to other colleagues within the team.
The last six months to a year have been essential to my development and I have started to take full ownership of projects I deliver and also strongly support my colleague’s integrations. My colleagues heavily rely on my expertise and support now. I have developed a standardized delivery process for a new product and every piece of new work is scheduled according to it. The growing demand for ID&F products has given me the opportunity to train and informally lead 11 team members from an outsourced company who are now delivering products successfully and this has massively helped the team. I have developed good leadership skills and I am now viewed as a SME on some ID&F product deliveries – monitoring and supporting multiple big client projects daily. I have been greatly recognized for the work I have conducted in the last year which resulted in multiple awards and a Half Year Award. This all led to the most recent acknowledgment - I got promoted to a Senior Solutions Analyst role.
I am eager to continue to excel in the work I do for the company and I can really see that hard work and efforts pay off when combined with motivation and positivity.

I have always been a ‘Can Do’ person and I believe this is essential to everyone who wants to join the company.
What opportunity for career progression is there?
I see my career path in Experian as a journey rather than a destination. There is no limitation to climbing the career ladder – both horizontally and vertically. People will stick to an organization where they feel that they have an opportunity to showcase their talent. I think that people development is one of the company’s core values, because the people are the focal point of what makes a company successful. Experian always has an open approach when it comes to career path – a great example of this is the “Stepping Stones” programs which allows employees to be a part of various departments and try on different job responsibilities. Every employee likes to acquire new skills and learnings whilst in a role. A sense of pride develops when people feel that the organization is investing time and resources to train and develop them which is exactly what Experian focuses on.
