"One should first share the Experian values. Agile mindset, collaboration, knowledge sharing and desire to improve are all well appreciated by the company’s culture. As Product owner I believe that open communication is key for every project success. And when I say “open”, I mean transparent communication at all levels – from Sr management to Scrum team and vice versa. We work on too complex projects to do them alone. The success is a team effort and everyone who doesn’t appreciate this will not fit in Experian."

What has your career journey been at Experian?

I joined Experian 4 years ago as Product Owner (PO) in Tallyman – a mature software product for collections management. I joined a scrum team which was temporarily allocated to this product. Four months later my scrum team was assigned back to their main project while I was given the choice to stay with Tallyman or to go with the team. I was working well with my team members and we had a unique team spirit. Everyone was so different that we complemented each other. I chose to go with the team and started working on the PowerCurve platform – the main decision analytics platform for Experian. Literally, it was like changing my job. The products were so different and the everyday PO activities involved much more collaboration with stakeholders from all over the world. This is the moment I understood what “working at a global scale” actually means. Four years later I still admire the size of the platform and the international collaboration that improves it every day. The complexity of PowerCurve created new challenges that allowed me to grow as professional and person. Progressively, I was promoted to senior expert, and then to a Lead PO and every time there were new challenges to solve and new opportunities to grab. My current role allows me to adopt much more holistic approach to the platform development including vision, strategy and tactical enhancements.

What makes someone a good fit at Experian?

One should first share the Experian values. The success is a team effort and everyone who doesn’t appreciate this will not fit in Experian.

What opportunity for career progression is there?

In 4 years I have worked on 2 projects and held 3 positions and I have participated in 3 professional development programs. Experian has a huge pool of development programs – from mentoring through shadowing to job mobility. The opportunities are there, it’s up to the people to seize them and benefit from them. Product owners can change projects or grow vertically, depending on their aspirations.

Why would you recommend working at Experian?

The great differentiator for Experian Bulgaria is that we work on the most strategic and advanced products that Experian has. PowerCurve is the leading decision analytics platform on the market and the roadmap is inspiring. We are already in the cloud; machine learning and artificial intelligence integrations are on the way. The platform evolution during the last couple of years is impressive. As a Product Owner I can observe how our business grows thanks to the implementations we introduced to the platform. Another great thing about Experian are the people. The culture of sharing and collaborating is contagious and people in Experian are real team players. Not only at local level, but internationally as well. Most of the projects involve significant amount of long distance collaboration which couldn’t be successful without the commitment of everyone.
